Description
This Botswana Standard gives recommendations for the installation of textile floor coverings and for the selection of appropriate materials. The loose laying of squares, rugs, runners, etc., is not included. NOTE In the building industry, a distinction is made between textile products that are permanently fixed to the floor and those that are loose-laid or temporarily fixed, by use of the terms ‘textile flooring’ and ‘textile floor covering’, respectively. In the textile trade, no such distinction in terms of nomenclature is made. In this standard, the term ‘textile floor covering’ is used throughout to denote a textile product (other than an underlay) that is partially fixed or fully fixed (either permanently or temporarily) to the floor.
