Type of Standards |
This standard specifies requirements for two types of detergent-disinfectants based on stabilized inorganic chlorine compounds and other chemical agents (such as compatible surface-active agents and phosphates) that are miscible with water intended for use on inanimate surfaces. The standard is intended for the evaluation of detergents-disinfectants based on stabilized inorganic chlorine compounds for general use. Examples include sodium hypochlorite stabilized with calcium hypochlorite and calcium hypochlorite stabilized with sodium carbonate plus boric acid. NOTE 1 Using this specification, it is not possible to determine the bactericidal activity of the undiluted product. Some dilution is always produced by the addition of inoculum, hard water and sterile skimmed milk. NOTE 2 If a product complies with the test requirements, it can be considered to be bactericidal product, but it should not necessarily be inferred that the product is a suitable detergent-disinfectant for a defined purpose.
