“This specification covers the requirements for metal fire resisting door units that are capable of passing a test in which they are gradually heated (over a period of 60 min) to a temperature of 945 °C and are then maintained at that temperature for 30 min. NOTE1 Because it is impractical to test samples taken from each consignment of fire resisting door units for compliance with some of the requirements of this specification, no specific sampling procedure has been included. The tests specified in clause 6 shall be carried out, under the supervision of an independent authority, on at least one fire resisting door unit from each group (as defined in clause 3). Some of the requirements and their allied tests are of such a nature that compliance can be proved only by means of a suitable agreement between supplier and purchaser. This agreement would have to include: a)the submission to the purchaser of proof of compliance with the specification of the prototype, i.e. the group testsample (see 5.2); and
b)the granting to the purchaser of access to records of raw materials used and of access to the factory to ensure thathis consignment of fire resisting door units has been made in the same manner as the prototype and from materialsat least equal in quality to those used in the manufacture of the prototype. NOTE2 Requirements that must be specified by the purchaser and a requirement that must be agreed upon between purchaser and supplier are listed in Annex A.”
