“This Botswana standard specifies requirements for fresh carrots of varieties “or cultivars” grown from Daucus carota L, which are for direct human consumption and excludes carrots for industrial processing. It is intended to define the quality attributes of fresh carrots after harvesting and to grade them according to the different quality levels. It also covers aspects of pesticide residue limits and post-harvest activities, all intended for marketing purposes.”
