Basics of structural design and actions for buildings and Industrial structures – Part 1: Basis of structural design
Description
1.1 Covers the basis of design and actions on building structures; and industrial structures utilizing structural systems similar to those of building structures.This standard is also applicable to for the structural appraisal of existing structures, for developing the design of repairs and alterations or for assessing changes of use.
1.2 It does not cover the following:
a) actions due to fire;
b) actions on structures subject to internal pressures from the contents (for example bunkers, silos, water tanks);
c) actions dur to hydrodynamic effects;
d) actions on chimneys, towers and masts;
e) actions on bridges;
f) actions on special industrial structures; or
g) actions due to internal or external explosions (for example, from gas explosive materials).
