BOBS has laboratories that offer testing in areas of micro-biology, chemistry, textiles, mechanical, civil engineering, and electrical engineering. Regulation of Compulsory Standards
Regulation of Measuring & Weighing Instruments for Trade
Any trader selling products by using measuring and weighing instruments needs to ensure that they measure or weigh properly. By law these instruments must be annually verified by BOBS for correctness. There are many weighing and measuring instruments and not all are allowed for use in Botswana. To ensure you acquire the right instrument contact BOBS for those that are permitted visit the Permitted Instruments page. BOBS will from time to time also run inspections of pre-packaged goods.
